Maco, Davao de Oro — The Davao de Oro Police, through the Maco Municipal Police Station, intensified its anti-illegal drug operations with two separate but significant actions targeting street-level drug personalities in the municipality.
In Barangay Dumlan, police conducted a search operation against a suspect known by the alias “Gang-gang,” who remains at-large. The individual is identified as a street-level personality involved in the illegal drug trade. During the operation, authorities recovered suspected shabu, an improvised tooter, and a green plastic container. All recovered items were properly handled and secured at the police station for further investigation.
Meanwhile, in Barangay Langgam, a successful buy-bust operation led to the arrest of a man known as “Tiyoy.” The operation, conducted in coordination with the Provincial Intelligence Unit and based on pre-operation intelligence from the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA), resulted in the seizure of two sachets of suspected shabu. One sachet was obtained during the transaction, while the other was found in the suspect’s possession. Police also confiscated a red-brown-black coin purse, an improvised tooter, and a marked ₱500 bill used in the operation.
The suspect and all confiscated items are now under police custody for documentation and proper disposition in line with Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
These operations form part of the Davao de Oro Police’s sustained efforts to curb the spread of illegal drugs in the province. With continued support from the community, authorities remain committed to ensuring a safer and more peaceful environment for all residents.
