Cagayan de Oro City — A member of the Communist Terrorist Group (CTG) listed among Northern Mindanao’s most wanted fugitives was arrested during a joint law enforcement operation in Talakag, Bukidnon on April 20, 2025.
The suspect, identified only by the alias “Batman,” 52, a resident of Barangay Tikalaan, Talakag, was apprehended by operatives of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) Misamis Oriental/Camiguin Provincial Field Unit in coordination with the 103rd Infantry “Haribon” Brigade, 1st Infantry Division of the Philippine Army, and the Regional Intelligence Unit 10.
“Batman” is ranked No. 5 in the Regional Level Top Ten Most Wanted Persons (TTMWP) list of Police Regional Office 10 (PRO10). His arrest was made possible through a warrant issued for Violation of Republic Act No. 9851, also known as the Philippine Act on Crimes Against International Humanitarian Law, Genocide, and Other Crimes Against Humanity. The warrant, under Criminal Case No. R-CDO-21-03229-CR, was issued on January 17, 2022, with no bail recommended.
Military intelligence reports revealed that the suspect is part of the CTG’s Hospital Squad under Sub-Regional Committee 5 (SRC-5) of the Northern Central Mindanao Regional Committee (NCMRC).
Following his arrest, “Batman” was placed under the custody of the CIDG Misamis Oriental for proper legal proceedings.
Police Brigadier General Jaysen C. De Guzman, Regional Director of PRO10, commended the teamwork and persistence of the operating units.
“PRO10, in coordination with other agencies, remains committed to pursuing and apprehending individuals who undermine the law and peace in our communities. This arrest is a major milestone in our campaign against insurgency and a clear message that crimes against humanity will never go unpunished,” De Guzman stated.
He also praised the joint forces of the PNP and AFP for their professionalism and vigilance in the successful operation.
