SULU, BARMM — Around 300 families displaced by recent armed conflict in Barangays Tunggol, Pangdan-Pangdan, and Masjid Bayle in Kalingalan Caluang, Sulu, received much-needed relief assistance from the Ministry of Social Services and Development (MSSD) on March 25–26, 2025.
Each affected household received 25 kilograms of rice and family food packs containing canned goods and instant coffee. The aid was distributed as part of MSSD’s Emergency Relief Assistance program under the Disaster Response Management Division, which aims to support Bangsamoro communities facing both natural and human-induced crises.
The relief operation was made possible through coordination with the Municipal Social Welfare Office of Kalingalan Caluang and the assistance of the Philippine National Police, Armed Forces of the Philippines, Barangay Local Government Units, and para-social workers.
This recent intervention underscores MSSD’s commitment to delivering prompt humanitarian assistance to vulnerable populations affected by conflict in the region.
