Tawi-Tawi, Philippines – In a swift and successful rescue operation, the Tawi-Tawi Police Provincial Office (TTPPO), led by Provincial Director PCOL Rodolfo A. Inoy Jr., rescued five Chinese nationals in Languyan, Tawi-Tawi, on March 21, 2025. The operation was conducted in coordination with the Languyan Municipal Police Station (PLT Sharif-Jan S. Jumdain, OIC), the 2nd Provincial Mobile Force Company (PLT Mustapha Sabban), 212MC-MBLT12 (1LT Raymond Escote PN (M)), the National Intelligence Coordinating Agency (NICA), and the Regional Intelligence Unit-9 (RIU-9).
According to the Bureau of Immigration (BI), the rescued individuals were blacklisted Chinese POGO workers from Lucky South 99. Two of them were further identified as fugitives wanted by Chinese authorities. The group was found stranded along the coast of Barangay Sikullis, Languyan, after their boat malfunctioned.
Authorities also discovered approximately five kilograms of suspected illegal drugs aboard the vessel. The confiscated substances have been sent for forensic examination to confirm their nature.
The investigation continues to determine those responsible for the illegal entry and attempted escape of the foreign nationals, particularly their alleged facilitators. Law enforcement agencies remain committed to upholding the law and preventing illegal activities in the region.
This successful operation underscores the vigilance of Tawi-Tawi’s police and military forces in ensuring that no lawbreaker escapes justice within the province.
