Cagayan de Oro City – March 13, 2025 – In a decisive move against illegal drugs, the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency Regional Office X (PDEA RO-X) Misamis Oriental Provincial Office, in collaboration with Police Station 4 of the Cagayan de Oro City Police Office (COCPO) and the PNP Criminal Investigation Branch (CIB), successfully dismantled a drug den and arrested four individuals in Barangay Balulang, Cagayan de Oro City.
The buy-bust operation led to the seizure of 5.05 grams of suspected shabu, with an estimated street value of PHP 34,340. The arrested individuals were identified as:
- Alias Maricel, 42, a drug den maintainer from Barangay Balulang, Misamis Oriental.
- Alias Renato, 53, a drug den visitor from Barangay Balulang, Cagayan de Oro City.
- Alias Loyins, 18, a drug den visitor from Barangay Macanhan, Cagayan de Oro City.
- Alias Alexis, 18, a drug den employee from Barangay Balulang, Cagayan de Oro City.
All suspects are now facing charges under Article II of Republic Act 9165, the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
PDEA RO-X emphasized that this operation is part of its ongoing commitment to eliminating illegal drug activities and maintaining safer communities in Cagayan de Oro City and its neighboring areas. Authorities continue to urge the public to report any suspicious drug-related activities to aid in the fight against illegal substances.
