TUBOD, Lanao del Norte – March 8, 2025 – The Provincial Government of Lanao del Norte marked International Women’s Day with a tree-planting activity in San Antonio, Tubod, reinforcing its commitment to both women’s empowerment and environmental conservation.

The event, organized by the Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office (PSWDO), aligned with this year’s theme: “For ALL Women and Girls: Rights. Equality. Empowerment.” Over 200 participants, including PGLDN employees, representatives from LGU-Tubod, the Women’s Association – Tubod Chapter, and the Knights of Columbus—Baroy, actively took part in the initiative.
Among the key figures present were Sangguniang Panlalawigan Members Hon. Grecille Matalines, Chair of the Committee on Women and Family Relations, and Hon. Eleuterio Obial Jr. Also in attendance was Eddelyn Quilab, Municipal KALIPI Federated President of Tubod.
Board Member Matalines highlighted the significance of integrating environmental awareness into the celebration, noting that the provincial government prioritizes both ecological preservation and the empowerment of women in the community.
The activity emphasized the crucial role women play in community development, sustainability, and leadership. By intertwining environmental advocacy with the International Women’s Day celebration, Lanao del Norte not only recognized the contributions of women but also encouraged ecological consciousness among its residents.
Adding to the festivities, the first 10 attendees and participants who correctly answered quiz questions received household essentials as prizes, further engaging the community in the meaningful celebration.
