KIDAPAWAN CITY – March 28, 2025 – In a significant milestone for child development services, the first-ever LGU-operated Nurture Hub in Cotabato Province and Region XII was officially inaugurated on March 27, 2024, at Osmeña Drive, Kidapawan City. The Ribbon Cutting and Blessing Ceremony marked the formal opening of this facility, which aims to provide equal opportunities for children with special needs.

The Nurture Hub is designed to create an inclusive environment where children with developmental disabilities can access essential services tailored to their needs. Among the programs and services offered by the hub are Occupational Therapy, the Parents Empowerment Program, the Community Empowerment Program, and Evaluation, Assessment, and Diagnosis services.

One of the highlights of the event was a lecture by Dr. Mary Wong on developmental milestones and common developmental disabilities. The session was attended by 102 child development center workers and was facilitated alongside Ms. Anna Marie Galay. The lecture served to equip attendees with the knowledge and skills necessary to support children with special needs effectively.

Leading the inauguration ceremony were city officials, with the presence of esteemed guests, including CSN Center Parañaque Administrator Nessie D. Baculo, Center Manager Dr. Martin Evangelista, City Health Officer Dr. Jocelyn Encienzo, and City Social Welfare and Development Officer Daisy Gaviola. Various department managers also graced the event, signifying the local government’s strong commitment to the initiative.

The launch of the Nurture Hub is a progressive step toward fostering an inclusive society where children with special needs receive adequate support and opportunities for growth. With its comprehensive programs and dedicated professionals, the facility is set to become a cornerstone in the region’s efforts to enhance child development services.
