Davao City, March 15, 2025 – A successful anti-drug operation conducted through a spot checkpoint in Barangay Sasa, Davao City, led to the arrest of two high-level drug personalities and the confiscation of suspected shabu valued at PhP 1,014,424.00.
The operation took place at Don Julian KM 9, as part of the Philippine National Police’s (PNP) intensified Simultaneous Anti-Criminality Law Enforcement Operation (SACLEO) in line with the 88th Araw ng Davao celebration. Personnel from Camp Sgt. Quintin M. Merecido, along with officers from the Davao City Police Office (DCPO) and Sasa Police Station (PS4), carried out the checkpoint, resulting in a major drug bust.
Authorities recovered three large rectangular heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets containing a white crystalline substance suspected to be shabu, a plastic bag, a silver Mitsubishi Mirage, and a driver’s license from the suspects. The arrested individuals are now under the custody of Sasa Police Station for the filing of appropriate charges.
The PNP remains steadfast in its anti-illegal drugs campaign under the leadership of PNP Chief, PGEN Rommel Francisco D. Marbil. The strategic framework aims to combat the proliferation of illegal drugs through continuous and aggressive law enforcement operations.
