CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY – A joint anti-drug operation conducted on February 25, 2025, in Barangay Carmen resulted in the arrest of two suspects and the confiscation of 17 grams of illegal drugs valued at ₱115,600.00.
The operation was carried out by the Cagayan de Oro City Police Office (COCPO) City Drug Enforcement Unit, in collaboration with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency Region X (PDEA RO-X) Regional Special Enforcement Team (RSET). Authorities identified the arrested individuals as:
- Alias Alpoks, 42, a resident of Barangay Carmen, Cagayan de Oro City.
- Alias Noel, 59, from Barangay Canitoan, Cagayan de Oro City.
The suspects are facing charges for violating Republic Act No. 9165, also known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
Law enforcement agencies reaffirmed their commitment to intensifying anti-drug efforts to maintain public safety and eradicate the proliferation of illegal drugs in the city.
