The Tactical Operations Wing – Western Mindanao (TOW-WESTMIN) of the Philippine Air Force celebrated its 14th anniversary with a remarkable public exhibit at SM City Mindpro. This special event showcased the wing’s mission, achievements, and its unwavering commitment to national security. Through this initiative, TOW-WESTMIN not only commemorated its legacy but also reinforced public awareness of the vital role it plays in safeguarding the nation.

A Grand Celebration of Service and Commitment
The exhibit was formally opened with the presence of distinguished guests, including Col. Adriano SJ Duadico PAF, Deputy Wing Commander of TOW-WESTMIN, and SM Regional Operations Head for Mindanao 3, Lester R. Tantoco. They were warmly received by SM City Mindpro’s Management Team, led by Mall Manager Aileen Ann Villa-Enriquez and Assistant Mall Manager Engr. Rommel Bellen. The event was further enlivened by the Philippine Army band, which provided dynamic musical performances, captivating mall-goers and setting a celebratory tone.
One of the exhibit’s key highlights was an immersive photo gallery dedicated to the West Philippine Sea. This display offered visitors an in-depth look at the challenges and importance of maritime security, emphasizing the crucial role of the Philippine Air Force in safeguarding national sovereignty. Through powerful visuals and informative content, the exhibit sought to educate the public on the significance of defending the country’s territorial waters and promoting regional stability.
Bridging Communities and Strengthening Awareness
The collaboration between TOW-WESTMIN and SM City Mindpro underscores the importance of community engagement in fostering appreciation for national security efforts. By bringing the exhibit to a public venue, the initiative reached a wider audience, allowing civilians to gain firsthand insights into the Philippine Air Force’s operations and contributions to peace and security in Western Mindanao.
Maritime security remains a pressing concern in the Philippines, especially in regions with strategic coastal borders. Events like this play a critical role in educating citizens on security challenges, encouraging vigilance, and fostering a collective sense of responsibility toward national defense.
An Invitation to Engage and Learn
The TOW-WESTMIN exhibit is open to the public from January 31 to February 2, offering a unique opportunity for visitors to deepen their understanding of the Philippine Air Force’s pivotal role in national security.
