Molave, Zamboanga del Sur – In the early hours of January 21, 2025, authorities apprehended two individuals in a drug buy-bust operation in Purok Manga, Barangay Madasigon, Molave. The operation, conducted at approximately 12:29 AM, resulted in the arrest of a 38-year-old male and a 39-year-old female, both vendors and residents of Molave.
Personnel from the Molave Municipal Police Station (MPS), Zamboanga del Sur Provincial Intelligence Unit (ZSPIU), and the 1st Zamboanga del Sur Provincial Mobile Force Company (ZSPMFC), in coordination with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA9), collaborated in the successful operation.
Evidence Seized
Authorities confiscated the following items:
- Buy-Bust Evidence:
- One small-sized, heat-sealed, blue transparent plastic straw containing a white crystalline substance believed to be shabu.
- Possession Evidence:
- One triangular-shaped, heat-sealed, transparent plastic straw containing a white crystalline substance believed to be shabu.
- One small-sized, heat-sealed, blue transparent plastic straw containing a white crystalline substance believed to be shabu.
- Other Items:
- One PHP 500 bill used as buy-bust money.
- One black coin purse used to store the seized items.
Custody and Investigation
The suspects, along with the confiscated items, were immediately transported to the Molave MPS for proper documentation and disposition. The seized drug evidence will be sent to the Zamboanga del Sur Provincial Forensic Unit at Camp Abelon, Pagadian City, for qualitative and quantitative examination.
The two suspects are currently detained at the Molave MPS pending further investigation and the filing of appropriate charges. Authorities emphasized their commitment to the continued fight against illegal drugs in the region, underscoring the importance of community cooperation in these operations.
