Davao City, January 11, 2025 – The Moro National Liberation Front (MNLF), under the steadfast leadership of Founding Leader and Chairman Prof. Nur P. Misuari, reaffirmed its unwavering commitment to peace advocacy, diplomacy, and reconciliation. With a vision of fostering unity and prosperity among the Bangsamoro people and contributing to the well-being of the entire Philippines, the MNLF unveiled comprehensive plans for 2025-2028 to advance its peace agenda and deepen its participation in governance through the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM).
Guided by the principles of universal brotherhood, humanity, and reconciliation, the MNLF has prioritized bridging gaps and misunderstandings among Moro leaders and constituents. This initiative underscores inclusivity, ensuring that the voices and aspirations of all stakeholders are acknowledged and respected. A key component of these efforts is the convergence program, which seeks to strengthen partnerships with Local Government Units (LGUs), institutions, and agencies. This collaboration aims to drive sustainable development and ensure long-term stability in the Bangsamoro region.
Internally, the MNLF is undergoing revitalization across its organizational structures. Efforts are focused on streamlining operations and enhancing the capacity to address the needs of the Bangsamoro people effectively. The MNLF’s Central Committee (CC) Office of the Secretary-General, led by Ustadz Murshi Ibrahim, has been entrusted with steering political programs and ensuring alignment with the full implementation of the September 2, 1996, Final Peace Agreement (FPA).
The MNLF also highlighted the critical role of the Office of the Presidential Adviser on Peace, Reconciliation, and Unity (OPAPRU) in realizing its objectives. The leadership has called on the administration of President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. to honor its commitment to fully implement all signed agreements during its term, emphasizing the significance of national government support in achieving lasting peace.
“We are committed to building bridges of understanding and ensuring that the Bangsamoro region thrives in peace, unity, and prosperity,” stated Vice Chairman Ustadz Abdullkarim Misuari. “This is a shared responsibility, and we hope the national government will stand with us in this noble cause.”
As the MNLF looks toward a promising future, its initiatives reflect a deep belief in the transformative power of reconciliation, mutual respect, and diplomacy. By fostering partnerships with national, international, and local entities, the MNLF aims to secure a legacy of peace and progress for future generations of Bangsamoro and Filipinos alike.
