Mati City, Davao Oriental – A high-value individual (HVI) was apprehended in a successful anti-illegal drug operation conducted on January 3, 2025, at Purok Bilawan-2, Barangay Central, Mati City, Davao Oriental.
The operation, spearheaded by the Mati City Police Station (CPS) in coordination with the Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit and the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) Davao Oriental, resulted in the arrest of a suspect known by the alias “Angkol.” Authorities seized illegal drugs and related items with a combined Standard Drug Price (SDP) of ₱748,450.00.
Confiscated from the suspect were:
- Multiple heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets containing a white crystalline substance believed to be shabu (methamphetamine hydrochloride), with an estimated SDP of ₱748,000.00.
- A pack of dried marijuana leaves with stalks valued at ₱450.00.
- Drug paraphernalia and other non-drug items.
The suspect is currently detained at the Mati City Police Station pending the filing of appropriate charges.

PBGEN Leon Victor Z. Rosete, Regional Director of Police Regional Office 11 (PRO 11), commended the unwavering dedication of the operatives involved in the operation.
