Tukuran, Zamboanga del Sur – A joint buy-bust operation conducted by the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) ROIX-Regional Special Enforcement Team, PDEA Zamboanga del Sur Provincial Office, and the Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit successfully led to the arrest of a drug personality on January 7, 2025, at around 12:15 PM in Purok Mauswagon, Barangay Sto. Niño.
The arrested individual was identified as Osama Zaman y Ibrahim, also known as “Boboy,” a 23-year-old driver from Barangay Bauyan, Sultan Naga Dimaporo, Lanao del Norte. Another suspect, identified as Faez Camad y Lomabao, 24, a resident of Purok 9, Bauyan, Sultan Naga Dimaporo, managed to evade arrest during the operation.
Confiscated from the scene were the following:
- One knot-tied transparent plastic bag containing approximately 50 grams of suspected shabu, with an estimated market value of Php340,000.00
- Four sheets of paper
- Boodle money topped with one genuine Php1,000 bill used as buy-bust money
- An Apple iPhone
- A Toyota Vios car and its key
- A National ID
The arrested suspect will face charges for violating Section 5 (Sale of Dangerous Drugs), Article II of Republic Act 9165, also known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
This operation highlights the collaborative efforts of PDEA and law enforcement units in their relentless pursuit of a drug-free Zamboanga del Sur. Authorities continue to call on the public to report any suspicious drug-related activities to further enhance their anti-drug initiatives.
