Kiamba, Sarangani Province – A collaborative effort by multiple law enforcement agencies resulted in the successful apprehension of two individuals during a buy-bust operation at the Kiamba Public Cemetery, Barangay Tamadang, on January 9, 2025. The operation was spearheaded by elements of the Kiamba Municipal Police Station (MPS), in coordination with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) Region 12, alongside the PDEU/PIU Sarangani Provincial Police Office (SPPO), Regional Intelligence Division 12 (RID12), 2nd Coy Sarangani Provincial Mobile Force Company (SPMFC), and the Maritime Law Enforcement Team (MLET) Kiamba.
The arrested suspects, identified as alias “Mar” and alias “Gab,” are residents of Barangay Poblacion, Kiamba. Authorities recovered heat-sealed transparent sachets containing a white crystalline substance believed to be shabu, with a total estimated street value of Php 9,445.29. Additionally, a Php 500.00 bill used as buy-bust money was seized during the operation.
The suspected illegal drugs have been submitted to the Regional Forensic Unit 12 for further qualitative and quantitative analysis. Charges are being prepared against the suspects for violation of Sections 5 (Sale) and 11 (Possession), Article II of Republic Act 9165, also known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
The Kiamba Police, in collaboration with other law enforcement agencies, reaffirmed their dedication to combating illegal drug activities in the region. They encouraged residents to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities to support ongoing efforts in maintaining peace and order.
