Esperanza, Sultan Kudarat – A joint operation spearheaded by the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) and the Police Regional Office 12 (PRO 12) led to the successful apprehension of a High-Value Individual and the confiscation of Php340,000 worth of illegal drugs in Purok Narra, Barangay Numo, on January 11, 2025.
Under the directive of PBGEN Arnold P. Ardiente, Acting Regional Director, personnel from the Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit (PDEU) of Sultan Kudarat, Esperanza Municipal Police Station (MPS), 2nd Sultan Kudarat Provincial Mobile Force Company (SKPMFC), and the 1202nd 3rd Platoon of the Regional Mobile Force Battalion 12 conducted a meticulously planned buy-bust operation targeting alias “Garry,” a 38-year-old driver and resident of Barangay Pimbalayan, Lambayong, Sultan Kudarat.
The operation yielded the following confiscated items:
- One small-sized and one jumbo-sized heat-sealed transparent plastic sachet containing suspected shabu.
- Php910,000 in marked Php1,000 bills used in the buy-bust operation.
- A backpack containing assorted IDs, one cellular phone, and a wallet.
The arrested suspect is currently in the custody of Esperanza MPS, along with the seized evidence, as authorities prepare to file charges for violations of Sections 5 (Sale of Dangerous Drugs) and 11 (Possession of Dangerous Drugs), Article II of Republic Act 9165, also known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
PBGEN Ardiente emphasized the importance of collaboration in the campaign against illegal drugs. “Our significant progress in the fight against illegal drugs is the result of the cooperative efforts with law enforcement partners and the community. Through our concerted efforts, we can soon build a strong, resilient, and drug-free neighborhood for everyone,” he stated.
The arrest of alias “Garry” underscores the unyielding commitment of PRO 12 and its allied agencies in the fight against illegal drugs, bringing the region closer to achieving its goal of a safer and drug-free community.
