M’lang, Cotabato – A tragic accident occurred this afternoon on the highway of Purok 5, Bialong, M’lang, Cotabato, when a Bajaj motorcycle was struck by a vehicle, resulting in the death of its driver.
The victim, identified as 60-year-old Jesus Tubigan from Brgy. Ugpay, M’lang, was thrown off his motorcycle upon impact and became entangled in a tree. His passenger was also ejected from the vehicle and sustained critical injuries.
The driver of the other vehicle, identified as Pastor Lito Dalisay, was reportedly on his way home to M’lang when the accident occurred. According to initial reports, the front tire of his vehicle burst, causing him to swerve into the opposite lane, where Tubigan’s motorcycle was approaching.
Due to the force of the collision, Tubigan was declared dead on the spot, while his passenger was rushed to the hospital in critical condition. Pastor Dalisay was also taken to the hospital for treatment.
Authorities are investigating the incident to determine further details. Motorists are urged to exercise caution, especially when traveling along highways prone to accidents.
