El Salvador City, Misamis Oriental — December 9, 2024

A collaborative anti-drug operation led by the Philippine National Police Drug Enforcement Group-Special Operations Unit 10 (PNP DEG SOU 10) and the PDEA Regional Special Enforcement Team (PDEA RO-X RSET) resulted in the arrest of three drug personalities and the confiscation of approximately 225 grams of suspected shabu worth PHP 1,530,000, based on the Dangerous Drugs Board (DDB) valuation.

The buy-bust operation took place in Barangay Amoros, El Salvador City. Authorities identified the primary target as Emerson, also known as “Tata,” 53, a resident of Iligan City. Arrested alongside him were Alias Norman, 20, a resident of Bugo, Cagayan de Oro City, and Gisselle, also known as “Ate,” 52, a fellow resident of Iligan City.

The suspects are now in custody and will face charges for violations of Republic Act 9165, also known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

The successful operation underscores the effectiveness of collaboration among law enforcement agencies. “This significant accomplishment is a testament to the strength of joint efforts in combating illegal drug activities and safeguarding our communities,” a statement from the authorities read.

The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) reiterated its commitment to working closely with the PNP and other law enforcement agencies to achieve the shared goal of a drug-free nation.

This operation marks another victory in the relentless fight against illegal drugs, further solidifying the government’s efforts to dismantle drug networks and ensure public safety.
