In a bid to intensify the fight against illegal drugs, key officials of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) met with provincial governors to discuss drug-related challenges and strengthen anti-drug initiatives.


On December 11, 2024, at the Provincial Capitol in Amas, Kidapawan City, Cotabato Governor Lala Taliño-Mendoza warmly welcomed newly installed PDEA Regional Director Benjamin C. Recites III and Provincial Officer Designate Jerome Valentos. During the visit, Governor Mendoza reaffirmed her support for the agency’s initiatives, emphasizing the enforcement of anti-drug laws and measures to eradicate illegal drugs in the province. She highlighted the importance of ensuring the safety and security of Cotabato’s residents through collaborative efforts.
The following day, December 12, 2024, Sarangani Governor’s Office in Alabel also hosted a productive dialogue with PDEA Region 12, led by Acting Regional Director Recites and PDEA-SarGen Provincial Officer Meynard Villaluz. Governor Steve Chiongbian Solon reiterated his administration’s commitment to achieving a drug-cleared and drug-free Sarangani, vowing to strengthen the campaign against illegal drugs for the benefit of all Sarangans.
Both provincial leaders emphasized that these partnerships signify a united stand against illegal drugs, ensuring a safer and more secure environment for their respective communities.
