Davao City, Philippines – The Police Regional Office 11 (PRO 11), under the leadership of Regional Director PBGEN Leon Victor Z. Rosete, achieved remarkable progress in its intensified campaign against loose firearms in November 2024. This initiative is part of PRO 11’s unwavering commitment to ensuring public safety and reducing gun-related violence across the Davao Region.

Throughout the month, PRO 11 carried out an impressive total of 24,024 police operations, leading to the arrest of 70 individuals and the confiscation, surrender, recovery, or safekeeping of 163 firearms. To reinforce accountability and legal action, 56 cases were filed in court, reflecting the region’s steadfast dedication to enforcing firearm laws and addressing illegal possession.

PBGEN Rosete emphasized the significance of this campaign as a cornerstone of peace and order efforts in the region.

“Our relentless operations against loose firearms reflect the Philippine National Police’s commitment to the directives of Chief, PNP, PGen Rommel Francisco D. Marbil, to safeguard our communities by removing illegal firearms from the streets. These efforts not only reduce the potential for violence but also promote a culture of responsibility and accountability among gun owners,” he stated.

The success of these operations underscores the collaborative efforts of PRO 11, local government units, stakeholders, and the community. Their active participation in encouraging the surrender of loose firearms and supporting law enforcement initiatives has been instrumental in achieving these results.
