Tagoloan, Misamis Oriental — The Tagoloan Municipal Police Station (MPS) of the Misamis Oriental Police Provincial Office successfully apprehended a high-value target during a buy-bust operation on December 16, 2024, in Zone 4, Poblacion, Tagoloan.
The operation led to the arrest of a 33-year-old resident, known by the alias “Tobing.” A first-time offender, Tobing was identified as unemployed, relying on illegal activities as his primary source of income.
Authorities recovered 16 large heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets containing a white crystalline substance suspected to be shabu. The total weight of the seized drugs was approximately 100 grams, with an estimated standard drug price of ₱680,000. Additional items confiscated included a digital weighing scale, a plastic container, a sling bag, a Caliber .22 Magnum Black Widow North America Arms mini revolver, and a marked ₱500 bill used in the operation.
The suspect is now in the custody of the Tagoloan MPS for proper legal proceedings. He will face charges for violating Section 5 and Section 11 of Article II of Republic Act No. 9165, also known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, as well as Republic Act No. 10591, the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act.
Police Brigadier General Jaysen C. De Guzman, Regional Director of Police Regional Office 10 (PRO10), commended the operating team for their successful operation.
“This successful operation underscores PRO10’s dedication to our mission of creating safer communities by eradicating illegal drug activities in the region. Let this serve as a stern warning to those involved in the illegal drug trade—our relentless efforts will not waver,” PBGEN De Guzman stated.
He also called for continued public cooperation in the fight against illegal drugs.
“We encourage the community to continue providing information that will lead to the apprehension of individuals involved in illegal activities. Together, let us help one another to attain a safer and drug-free Northern Mindanao,” he added.
