Under the leadership of Acting City Director PCOL Hansel M. Marantan, the Davao City Police Office (DCPO) has demonstrated unwavering commitment to ensuring the safety and security of the city. Over the past week, DCPO has accomplished significant milestones across its four focused directives: anti-illegal drugs, anti-gambling, apprehension of wanted persons, and operations against loose firearms.
Anti-Illegal Drug Operations
DCPO conducted 18 operations targeting illegal drug activities, which resulted in the arrest of 25 individuals. These operations led to the confiscation of 60.24 grams of shabu, with an estimated street value of Php 409,632.00, and 40.261 grams of marijuana valued at Php 4,831.32. This steadfast approach underscores the DCPO’s determination to combat illegal drugs in the city.
Anti-Gambling Campaign
Intensified efforts to curb illegal gambling saw the DCPO conduct eight operations, leading to the apprehension of seven individuals. The operations recovered Php 2,320.00 in bet money, and seven cases were filed against the violators. These actions reflect the police office’s resolve to address unlawful gambling activities.
Apprehension of Wanted Persons
The DCPO carried out 47 operations targeting wanted persons, resulting in the arrest of 47 individuals. This includes 13 individuals classified as most wanted and 34 others with pending warrants. These arrests are a testament to the police force’s effectiveness in pursuing justice and ensuring accountability.
Campaign Against Loose Firearms
Through 12 operations focused on loose firearms, the DCPO apprehended four individuals and confiscated five illegal firearms. Additionally, eight firearms were surrendered voluntarily. Four related cases have been filed in court, emphasizing the DCPO’s commitment to reducing gun-related violence in the community.
Total Achievements
In total, the Davao City Police Office arrested 83 individuals during the week. These accomplishments highlight the department’s dedication to enforcing the law while maintaining respect for human rights and adherence to Police Operational Procedures.
