Surallah, South Cotabato – In a successful anti-criminality operation, personnel of Police Regional Office 12 (PRO 12) intercepted and arrested two high-value drug suspects at a checkpoint in Purok Mabini, Barangay Dajay, Surallah, South Cotabato on March 3, 2025.
The operation was carried out by the Surallah Municipal Police Station (MPS) in coordination with the South Cotabato Police Provincial Office (SCPPO), Regional Police Drug Enforcement Unit (RPDEU) 12, Regional Public Highway Patrol Unit (RPHU) 12, Provincial Intelligence Unit (PIU), Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit (PDEU), South Cotabato Provincial Forensic Unit (SCPFU), and the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) 12.
Authorities confiscated approximately 300 grams of suspected shabu with an estimated National Standard Drug price of Php 2,040,000.00.
The suspects, identified as alias “Dino,” 44, a resident of Barangay Libertad, Surallah, and alias “Irish,” 44, a resident of Barangay Yangco, Banga, were aboard a white Suzuki Dzire Sedan when they were stopped for a routine inspection. During the checkpoint, police officers noticed a small sachet of suspected shabu inside a sling bag as the driver retrieved his license, prompting their immediate arrest. A subsequent search revealed six large sachets of suspected shabu concealed inside the vehicle.
Following their arrest, the suspects and the seized illegal substances were brought to the Surallah Municipal Police Station for proper disposition and the filing of appropriate charges.
PBGEN Arnold P. Ardiente, Regional Director of PRO 12, lauded the operatives for their vigilance and commitment to keeping illegal drugs off the streets.
