Surallah, South Cotabato | July 2, 2025 — Authorities scored another win in the fight against illegal drugs after a successful buy-bust operation conducted in Barangay Dajay, Surallah, South Cotabato, on July 1, 2025, resulted in the arrest of a suspected drug peddler.
Personnel from the Surallah Municipal Police Station (MPS), under the South Cotabato Police Provincial Office and in coordination with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) Regional Office 12, arrested a 39-year-old suspect known by the alias “Rolly,” a resident of Barangay Salabaca, Esperanza, Sultan Kudarat.
The operation, which took place at around 12:20 PM, led to the arrest of the suspect after he sold a sachet of suspected shabu to an undercover police operative. Recovered from his possession were one heat-sealed plastic sachet containing suspected shabu valued at ₱134,572.00, an Infinix Android cellphone, a marked ₱1,000 bill used as buy-bust money, along with nine other ₱1,000 bills and a ₱500 bill used as boodle money.
The suspect is currently in custody at the Surallah MPS pending the filing of appropriate charges for violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. The confiscated suspected shabu has been turned over to the South Cotabato Provincial Forensic Unit in Koronadal City for laboratory examination.
Police Regional Office 12 (PRO-12) reaffirmed its commitment to intensify anti-drug efforts and maintain public safety across the region.
