Butuan City, Philippines – Authorities seized an estimated Php476,000 worth of shabu from a high-value individual (HVI) during a buy-bust operation conducted on November 3, 2024, at Purok 1, Barangay San Ignacio, Butuan City.
Police Brigadier General Bowenn Joey M Masauding, Regional Director of Police Regional Office 9, identified the suspect as “Argie,” a 28-year-old unemployed resident of Purok 1, Barangay Ong Yiu, Butuan City.
Confiscated from the suspect were 70 grams of shabu valued at Php476,000, along with a 9mm caliber pistol with a loaded magazine, an Android phone, a digital weighing scale, a Suzuki Raider motorcycle, and Php13,000 in buy-bust money.
The suspect now faces charges under Republic Act 10591, or the “Illegal Possession of Firearms,” as well as Republic Act 9165, also known as the “Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.”
