October 30, 2024, Iligan City – In a significant crackdown on illegal drug activities, the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency Region X (PDEA RO-X) Iligan-Lanao del Norte Provincial Office led an early-morning operation today in Barangay Hinaplanon, Iligan City. Conducted with support from the PDEA RO Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM), the Regional Intelligence Unit of the Philippine National Police (PNP), Iligan City Police Office – Police Station 1, and Task Force Iligan, the operation was executed under a search warrant (SW No. 24-0068).
The coordinated efforts led to the confiscation of approximately 10 grams of suspected shabu, with an estimated street value of Php 68,000, according to the Dangerous Drugs Board (DDB). While authorities secured the illegal drugs, the primary target of the search warrant, known as “Alias Baulo,” remains at large. Charges under Republic Act 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002) and Republic Act 10591 (Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act) have been filed against the suspect.
This successful operation underscores the sustained commitment of PDEA and its partners to combat illegal drug proliferation and enhance community safety in Iligan City and surrounding areas.
