In a recent peace-building event, families involved in a prolonged dispute — including those of Anwar Dimacinsil, Tamano Mamalapat, and Jordan Lintang — came together to formally settle their differences. Each family signed an agreement, committing to end the longstanding conflict and prevent future discord. The peaceful settlement aims to break the cycle of animosity and foster mutual understanding, symbolizing a significant step towards sustained harmony in the province.
Secretary Suharto T. Mangudadatu of TESDA, who played a vital role in the rido settlement, emphasized the importance of forgiveness and the profound impact of peace on both personal and community well-being. His presence underscored the national government’s support in addressing local conflicts and empowering communities through reconciliation.
The settlement ceremony was also witnessed by key officials, including Vice Governor Nathaneil Midtimbang, Pandag Mayor Mohajeran “Odjie” Balayman, Datu Saudi Mayor Resty Sindatok, and Palimbang Mayor Joenime B. Kapina of Sultan Kudarat. Members of the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) and the Philippine National Police (PNP) were also in attendance, reinforcing their commitment to maintaining security and order.
Through this peace initiative, Maguindanao del Sur envisions a future where unity prevails over division, and communities work together to build a secure and prosperous province. Governor Mangudadatu’s efforts reflect a steadfast commitment to fostering an environment where every family can live peacefully, free from fear, and empowered to contribute to the province’s progress. This landmark agreement is expected to set a lasting precedent for peaceful conflict resolution in the region.
