Datu Odin Sinsuat, Maguindanao del Norte — Authorities seized approximately P6.8 million worth of shabu and arrested two suspects in a joint anti-drug operation in Datu Odin Sinsuat, Maguindanao del Norte, on November 9, 2024. The operation was carried out by personnel from the Municipal Drug Enforcement Unit (MDEU) of Sultan Kudarat MPS, with assistance from various regional law enforcement units.
The operation, initially planned for Barangay Salimbao in Sultan Kudarat, was relocated to Barangay Poblacion Dalican in Datu Odin Sinsuat after negotiations with the suspects led to a change in the transaction site. At the designated location, an undercover officer posed as a buyer to complete the drug deal. Upon signaling, authorities swiftly apprehended the suspects—a 42-year-old female vendor and her husband, a driver—both residents of Kinupotan, Barangay Dalican Poblacion, Datu Odin Sinsuat.
Seized during the operation were one kilogram of suspected shabu, packaged in a plastic wrapper labeled “Power Very Good” and enclosed in a yellow tea bag with “GUANYINWANG” branding, with an estimated street value of P6.8 million. Additional items confiscated included a female backpack, bundles of counterfeit bills, an ID card, a personal collection receipt, a cellphone, and a sando bag.
Barangay officials and media representatives from Brigada News and DXMY Cotabato City witnessed the inventory of the confiscated items on-site. Following the operation, the suspects were informed of their constitutional rights and taken to Sultan Kudarat MPS for documentation and processing. Charges under the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 (RA 9165) are being prepared.
PRO BAR Regional Director PBGEN ROMEO J MACAPAZ lauded the operating units, calling the operation a testament to law enforcement’s commitment to dismantling the illegal drug trade in the Bangsamoro region.
