Dumingag, Zamboanga del Sur — A former member of a Communist Terrorist Group (CTG) surrendered to authorities on November 3, 2024, in Barangay San Pablo, Dumingag, Zamboanga del Sur.
Police Captain Jimmer W. Urot, Officer-in-Charge of the Dumingag Municipal Police Station, identified the former rebel as 34-year-old alias “Dodong/Rodz/Allan,” a bus driver and resident of Barangay Caloma Tigbao, Zamboanga del Sur.
According to authorities, the individual had previously held key roles within the CTG. He was formerly a member and organizer within the WACOM/WMRPC, KABATAAN, HYQ KALAW MRGU WMRPC, and SEC of PWAC Zamboanga Sibugay. The former CTG executive expressed his desire to lead a peaceful life with his family, motivating his decision to return to the government fold.
In an initial gesture of support, authorities provided him with a sack of rice following his surrender. This successful reintegration was made possible through the collaborative efforts of the Dumingag Municipal Police Station, Zamboanga del Sur Provincial Intelligence Team, Regional Intelligence Unit 9, Regional Mobile Force Battalion 9, and the Armed Forces of the Philippines.
The government, under President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr., has continued efforts to end insurgency and promote reintegration. The Philippine National Police (PNP) encourages remaining CTG members and supporters to consider returning through the Enhanced Comprehensive Local Integration Program (E-CLIP), as part of the national goal of building a “Bagong Pilipinas.”
