CTG Supporter Surrenders to Authorities in Zamboanga del Sur

A former supporter of the Communist Terrorist Group (CTG) voluntarily surrendered to the 1st Zamboanga del Norte Provincial Mobile Force Company (1st ZNPMFC) in Barangay Dilud, Dumingag, Zamboanga del Sur, on November 14, 2024.

Police Lieutenant Colonel Joseph R. Maulad, Force Commander of the 1st ZNPMFC, identified the surrenderer as “Lan,” a 40-year-old bus driver and resident of Barangay Dilud. “Lan” was previously affiliated with the Yunit Militia/Militia ng Bayan but decided to abandon his involvement with the group in pursuit of a peaceful and orderly life with his family.

In a gesture of support, the police immediately provided the surrenderer with a sack of rice.

This action aligns with the government’s ongoing efforts under the leadership of President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. to address insurgency issues. Through the Enhanced Comprehensive Local Integration Program (E-CLIP), the administration continues to encourage remaining CTG members and supporters to return to the fold of the law and contribute to building a “Bagong Pilipinas” (New Philippines).

The Philippine National Police (PNP) has reiterated its call for others still involved with the CTG to seize the opportunity to reintegrate into society and access government support programs designed to foster lasting peace and development.
