City of Dapitan Inaugurates New Mobile Clinic and Sea Ambulance with Ceremonial Blessing

Dapitan City, October 30, 2024 — In a significant stride toward advancing healthcare accessibility in Dapitan City, a ceremonial blessing for a newly acquired Mobile Clinic and Sea Ambulance took place at the City Government Center. The event was officiated by Rev. Fr. John Warren Maratas and attended by an array of local and national officials, underscoring the importance of the initiative.

The event was led by City Mayor Seth Frederick “Bullet” P. Jalosjos, who extended a warm welcome to Department of Health (DOH) Secretary Dr. Teodoro J. Herbosa. Dr. Herbosa, who was present to witness the unveiling, expressed his admiration for the new facilities, hailing them as exemplary projects that prioritize healthcare for the community. He noted, “These impactful projects spearheaded by Mayor Bullet reflect a commendable commitment to health and safety, ensuring that quality care is more accessible to residents.”

Mayor Jalosjos’ vision for a more inclusive healthcare system has been exemplified by the acquisition of these state-of-the-art medical facilities. The Mobile Clinic is designed to bring essential health services to remote areas of the city, expanding the reach of the city’s medical outreach programs. Meanwhile, the Sea Ambulance is expected to significantly improve emergency response capabilities, particularly for residents of Dapitan’s two island barangays, offering a faster, safer way to transport patients in critical condition to medical facilities.

Among the dignitaries who graced the occasion were DOH Regional Director Dr. Joshua G. Brillantes, DOH RO IX Assistant Regional Director Dr. Lenny Joy Johnson-Rivera, City Health Officer II Dr. Mary Ann E. Cataluña, along with members of the CHO staff, the Liga ng mga Barangay President Hon. Sushmita R. Jalosjos, and the Sangguniang Panlungsod members.

This landmark event highlights Dapitan City’s ongoing commitment to enhancing healthcare infrastructure for the well-being of its citizens, a mission strongly backed by both local leadership and national support.
