A former member of a Communist Terrorist Group and one of the Top 5 Most Wanted persons at the provincial level was arrested on October 16, 2024, in Poblacion, Siayan, Zamboanga del Norte. The suspect, identified as “Shawe,” a 48-year-old male from Purok 6, Barangay Sugbay Uno, Dimataling, Zamboanga del Norte, was apprehended by authorities from the Siayan Municipal Police Station.
Police Captain Najib B. Alip, Officer-in-Charge of Siayan MPS, confirmed the arrest, which was conducted in coordination with various units, including the 1st ZNPMFC, 1st ZSPMFC, Zamboanga del Sur Provincial Intelligence Team, RIU 9, and the 902nd MC RMFB 9. The suspect faces charges of attempted murder, with bail set at Php120,000.
