A retired police officer identified as Jerry Maramba, 60, was shot and killed in the rural area of Sitio Aspang, Barangay Poblacion, Malapatan, Sarangani Province. Maramba was a resident of Purok Zenia Street, Barangay Poblacion, Polomolok, South Cotabato.
According to the initial investigation, the shooting occurred at around 8 AM while Maramba was marking a coconut tree. During this activity, he was fatally shot by unknown assailants.
Authorities have identified two individuals as suspects in the crime, and an investigation is currently underway to determine the motive behind the killing.
