Residents of Surallah, South Cotabato, are expressing concern over the recent resurgence of cattle theft in their town. The latest incident has raised alarms after another cow was stolen in the area.
In an interview with DXKG 92.5 FM Radyo Rapido Koronadal, Barangay Kagawad Gary Elegano of Barangay Tubi-Ala in Surallah recounted that the theft occurred at around 5:00 AM. The owner, Vicente Tudoc Jr., discovered that his cow was missing, with only its droppings and the rope tied to a coconut tree left behind.
Kagawad Elegano further explained that the cow was slaughtered at the scene, with only the meat taken, leaving the intestines and other remains behind.
This marks the second time Tudoc has fallen victim to cattle theft, where again, only the meat was stolen. The Surallah PNP, along with the local government of Barangay Tubi-Ala, continues to investigate the incident and is working to address the ongoing cattle thefts in the area.
