Police Operation Leads to Arrest of Notorious Gang Leader in Bukidnon

Malaybalay City, Bukidnon – October 24, 2024

In a major success for local law enforcement, a coordinated police operation led by the Bukidnon Police Provincial Intelligence Unit (BukPIU) Tracker Team, alongside CIDT Bukidnon, Maramag Municipal Police Station, PIT-RIU 10, Valencia City Police Station, 1003rd Maneuver Company (MC), RMFB 10, and the 1st Bukidnon Provincial Mobile Force Company, resulted in the arrest of a wanted gang leader.

The operation, which took place at the Bukidnon Provincial Capitol Hall in Barangay 2, Malaybalay City, led to the apprehension of alias “Yoyoy,” a 48-year-old construction worker from Purok 3, Guinoyoran, Valencia City, Bukidnon. Yoyoy is a known leader of the Batistil Criminal Gang and was wanted for multiple serious offenses. His arrest was executed based on two warrants: one for Robbery with Violence Against or Intimidation of Persons, issued under criminal case number 19081-08 with a bail bond set at PHP 100,000, dated August 24, 2017, and another for Murder under criminal case number 25722-14V, issued on July 4, 2014, with no bail recommended.

PCOL Culaway, Provincial Police Director, commended the relentless dedication of the participating units, emphasizing the significance of their recent success. “Let us remain steadfast in hunting down notorious criminals with outstanding warrants as we boost our campaign for criminal justice. Carry on!” PCOL Culaway stated, expressing his encouragement for ongoing efforts to uphold security across the province.

The arrest marks a critical step in weakening criminal operations in Bukidnon, and the suspect is now in the custody of the BukPIU for documentation and further legal procedures.
