Kidapawan City, October 18, 2024 — A 31-year-old police officer was shot dead by unidentified assailants outside her laundry shop on Datu Ingkal Street, Poblacion, Kidapawan City, at approximately 7:00 PM.
The victim, PCpl. Rolinda Tabamo, was a former member of the Tantangan Municipal Police Station. Initial reports from the Philippine National Police (PNP) revealed that Tabamo had been absent without leave (AWOL) from her duties prior to the incident.
Eyewitnesses stated that Tabamo was standing outside her laundry shop when a man wearing a helmet approached her and opened fire. The attackers were believed to be riding in tandem. Four gunshots were heard by residents, with two striking Tabamo, resulting in her immediate death. Reports confirmed that she was hit in the back and head, leading to her fatal injuries.
The local police are actively investigating the case, looking into possible motives for the killing, including personal disputes. The identity of the suspects remains unknown at this time. The Kidapawan City PNP is exploring various leads and angles as part of their ongoing investigation.
