Former Supporter of Communist Terrorist Group Surrenders to Authorities in Zamboanga Sibugay

A former supporter of the Communist Terrorist Group (CTG) voluntarily surrendered to the authorities in Buug, Zamboanga Sibugay on Sunday, September 29, 2024.

Police Lieutenant Colonel Ryan Jay R. Capurcos, Force Commander of the 1st Zamboanga Sibugay Provincial Mobile Force Company, identified the individual as “Tikboy,” a 47-year-old resident of Barangay Bulaan in Buug, Zamboanga Sibugay.

According to authorities, “Tikboy” had been an active supporter of the CTG Affected Mass Organization (CAMO), under the Regional Urban Committee, Zamboanga Sibugay Chapter, Western Mindanao Party Regional Committee (WMPRC). His decision to surrender was driven by a desire to live a peaceful and stable life with his family.

This surrender is part of the government’s ongoing efforts to combat insurgency, as outlined by President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. The administration continues to encourage remaining CTG members and supporters to reintegrate into society through the Enhanced Comprehensive Local Integration Program (E-CLIP). The program provides an opportunity for former insurgents and supporters to rebuild their lives and work toward a united and peaceful “Bagong Pilipinas.”
