TITAY, Zamboanga Sibugay — Authorities reported a breakthrough in their campaign against communist insurgency after a female supporter of the Communist Terrorist Group (CTG) voluntarily surrendered in Barangay Kipit, Titay, Zamboanga Sibugay Province.
The operation, led by the Zamboanga Sibugay 2nd Provincial Mobile Force Company (PMFC) under the leadership of PCPT Paul P. Ramayrat, Officer-in-Charge, and in coordination with the Titay Municipal Police Station (MPS), successfully convinced the individual to withdraw her support for the CTG.
According to police, the surrenderee admitted to supplying food, medical supplies, and intelligence information to the Militia ng Bayan and the dismantled Guerilla Front KARA, which had previously been operating in the province.
Authorities credited the accomplishment to their intensified, intelligence-driven campaign supported by Barangay Intelligence Networks (BINs), informants, action agents, and barangay officials. The coordinated effort aims to neutralize CTG supporters and dismantle the group’s remaining support systems in the province.
Police assured that the surrenderer will be provided with appropriate assistance as she reintegrates into mainstream society.
