Cagayan de Oro City – Mayor Klarex Uy has called on the Cagayan de Oro City Police Office (COCPO) to expedite the investigation into the killing of Police Captain Abdulcahar Armama, the chief of Cogon Police Station 2. Armama was fatally shot by assailants on a motorcycle while he was alighting from his vehicle in Greenhills, Barangay Bulua, on October 6, 2024.
In response to the incident, Mayor Uy instructed COCPO City Director Police Colonel Salvador Radam to swiftly resolve the case and bring the perpetrators to justice. A special task force will be formed to investigate the motive behind the killing and identify those responsible for the crime.
Mayor Uy’s spokesperson, Jan Actub, also emphasized that the police will enhance security measures across the city to prevent further violence. Mayor Uy expressed his deepest condolences to Armama’s family and the police force, vowing to seek justice for the slain officer.
COCPO has launched a hot pursuit operation to apprehend the suspects, believed to be part of a “riding-in-tandem” criminal group.
