Lanao del Sur, September 24, 2025 – A violent clash erupted today between two groups in the towns of Malabang, specifically in Barangay Bacayawan and Barangay Lati. As of this writing, authorities have yet to determine the number of fatalities and casualties, including civilians, as the conflict is still ongoing.
Local authorities are currently investigating the root cause of the confrontation, as well as assessing the situation of residents in the affected areas. The safety and status of civilians remain a concern, with many possibly displaced or caught in the crossfire.
In response to the escalating violence, local officials have announced the suspension of classes in the municipalities of Picong and Malabang, Lanao del Sur. School officials urged parents and learners to remain vigilant, with further updates on the resumption of classes to be posted at a later time.
Residents in the area are advised to stay safe and avoid traveling near the conflict zones. Local authorities are closely monitoring the situation to prevent further escalation and ensure the safety of the population.
