Joint operatives of PDEA Regional Office XI Davao Oriental Provincial Office and Mati City Police Station arrested four (4) drug personalities and dismantled a drug den during the conduct of buy-bust operation on September 5, 2024 at around 8:10 in the evening at Purok Dalampasigan, Bilawan Relocation, Barangay Central, Mati City, Davao Oriental.
The subject of the buy-bust operation, Rogelio Policarpio Obaňa @ Rodel, 51 years old, and a resident of the said Barangay was arrested for selling one (1) piece heat sealed transparent plastic sachet of suspected methamphetamine hydrochloride locally known as “shabu” worth Php 1,000.00 to PDEA Agent who acted as poseur buyer.
His drug den employee, Lucila Pacheco and drug den visitors Benjamin Lozano and Ivan Rosauro Pederes were also arrested.
Eighteen (18) pieces heat sealed transparent plastic sachet with suspected shabu in different sizes weighing more or less twenty-five (25) grams with estimated value of Php 170,000.00, assorted drug paraphernalia and the buy-bust marked money were also seized during the operation. The vehicle they used in their illegal drug transaction was also confiscated.
Cases for violation of Republic Act 9165 otherwise known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 are being prepared against them.
