Davao City – A hot pursuit operation is currently underway against the suspects who shot and killed a woman in Purok 7, Barangay Poblacion, Sulop, Davao del Sur, at around 6:00 AM on Tuesday, September 17, 2024.
According to a report from the Sulop Municipal Police Station (MPS), the victim has been identified as Mary Joy Suarez, 29 years old, married, and a resident of Barangay McKinley, Sulop, Davao del Sur.
Initial investigation revealed that the victim was on her motorcycle, having just dropped off her son at Sulop National High School. At that time, she was already being followed by two unidentified suspects. On her way back home after dropping off her child, one of the suspects shot her, hitting her in the left ear, which caused her immediate death.
The suspects quickly fled in an unknown direction. Recovered at the crime scene was a bullet from a caliber .45 pistol, which was used in the shooting.
Authorities are continuing their investigation and efforts to apprehend the suspects.
