Cagayan de Oro City — In a coordinated anti-drug operation conducted on September 18, 2024, law enforcement authorities successfully dismantled a drug den in Barangay 36, Cagayan de Oro City. The joint effort was spearheaded by the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency – Regional Office X (PDEA RO-X) Misamis Oriental Provincial Office, the PDEA ROX Regional Special Enforcement Team (RSET), and the Cagayan de Oro City Police Office (PS2 – Cogon), with support from the PNP Regional Intelligence Unit, Region 10.
The operation led to the seizure of 15 grams of shabu, with an estimated street value of Php102,000. Seven individuals were arrested for their involvement in illegal drug activities. The arrested suspects are:
- Alias Al, 36, male
- Alias Nora, 36, female
- Alias Jess, 47, female
- Alias Abi, 26, male
- Alias Alawi, 31, male
- Alias Jona, 22, female
- Alias Jani, 40, female
All suspects are residents of Barangay 36 and are facing charges for violations of Republic Act 9165, also known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
The successful operation is part of PDEA RO-X’s ongoing commitment to intensifying the fight against illegal drugs in Northern Mindanao. PDEA officials expressed their continued determination to work with local police units and intelligence agencies to eradicate drug-related activities in the region and ensure public safety.
