Drug Bust in Koronadal City Dismantles Drug Den, Nabs Six Suspects

Koronadal City, South Cotabato – In a significant anti-drug operation, six individuals, including the owner of a drug den, were arrested in a buy-bust operation on September 4, 2024, at 3:19 PM on Rivera Street, Purok Nagkakaisa, Barangay GPS.

The operation was a collaborative effort involving the PDEA Sultan Kudarat Provincial Office, PDEA South Cotabato Provincial Office, 1st South Cotabato Police Mobile Force Company, Koronadal City Drug Enforcement Unit, and South Cotabato Police EOD and Canine Unit.

The arrested suspects were identified as Michael Tinapian, 45, the den owner; Soraida Ibad y Alilaya, 49; Mitselvir Navales y Quiambao, 24; John Michael Tinapian y Pendatun, 24; Emmanuel Dela Cruz y Gutierrez, 34; and Michael Ortiz y Escaran, 43.

Authorities confiscated six sachets of suspected methamphetamine hydrochloride, commonly known as shabu, weighing approximately six grams with an estimated value of Php 41,800.00. Additionally, various drug paraphernalia, a hand grenade, live ammunition, a cellular phone, and buy-bust money were seized during the operation.

The suspects are currently detained and will face charges for violating Article II of RA 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002), RA 10591 (Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act), and RA 9516 (Illegal Possession of Explosives).

This successful operation underscores the ongoing efforts of law enforcement agencies to combat illegal drug activities and ensure the safety and well-being of the community.
