KORONADAL CITY, South Cotabato — A suspected high-value drug personality was arrested after a late-night anti-drug operation conducted by joint operatives in Koronadal City on Monday, May 11, 2026, resulting in the seizure of more than ₱112,000 worth of suspected shabu.

The operation was spearheaded by the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency Regional Office 12 South Cotabato Provincial Office in coordination with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency Regional Office 12 Regional Special Enforcement Team and the South Cotabato Police Drug Enforcement Unit.
Authorities carried out the buy-bust operation at Purok Twin River West in Barangay Sto. Niño, leading to the arrest of alias “Jun-Jun,” 39 years old, single, unemployed, and a resident of Purok Imperial, Barangay GPS, Koronadal City.
According to investigators, the suspect was listed as a High-Value Target (HVT) in the government’s anti-illegal drug campaign.
Recovered from the suspect were approximately 16.5 grams of suspected shabu with an estimated standard drug price of ₱112,200. Authorities also confiscated the marked ₱1,000 buy-bust money, an Android cellular phone, an improvised glass tooter, scissors, a disposable lighter, and a black pouch believed to have been used in illegal drug activities.
Operatives said the confiscated pieces of evidence were properly marked and inventoried at the scene following standard operating procedures before being brought to the proper authorities for laboratory examination and documentation.
The suspect is now under the custody of authorities and is set to face charges for violations of Sections 5, 11, and 12, Article II of Republic Act No. 9165, also known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
Law enforcement agencies reiterated their commitment to intensifying anti-illegal drug operations across South Cotabato, warning that authorities will continue to pursue individuals involved in the illegal drug trade as part of ongoing efforts to curb criminality and protect communities from the dangers of prohibited substances.
