ZAMBOANGA SIBUGAY – A search warrant operation led by the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) Zamboanga Sibugay Provincial Office resulted in the dismantling of a drug den and the arrest of three suspected drug personalities in Barangay Mountain View, Imelda, Zamboanga Sibugay on March 28, 2025.

Authorities, armed with Search Warrant No. IM-25-365 issued by the Regional Trial Court, 9th Judicial Region, Branch 31, conducted the raid at approximately 10:25 AM. The operation was carried out by a joint team comprising personnel from PDEA, the Regional Intelligence Unit 9 (RIU9), the Philippine National Police Drug Enforcement Group (PDEG) Zamboanga Sibugay, the Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit (PDEU) Zamboanga Sibugay, and the Imelda Municipal Police Station.

During the operation, three individuals were apprehended. They were identified as Maximo Cuansing Deregla, 46, a welder from Purok 1, Barangay Mountain View; Mark Rosen Dampor Cuansing, 25, a rubber tapper from Purok 2, Barangay Mountain View; and Jholex Real Tamanan, 20, also a rubber tapper and resident of the same area.

Law enforcement officers seized approximately 12 grams of suspected shabu with an estimated street value of ₱81,600. Additionally, five opened sachets containing traces of suspected shabu, along with drug paraphernalia such as lighters, improvised aluminum foil tooters, and plastic sachets, were recovered from the scene.

The suspects will face charges for violations of Sections 6, 7, 11, and 12 of Republic Act 9165, also known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

PDEA, in collaboration with other law enforcement agencies, continues its intensified campaign against illegal drugs, reaffirming its commitment to dismantling drug networks operating in Zamboanga Sibugay.
