Marawi City, Philippines – Department of Budget and Management (DBM) Secretary Amenah F. Pangandaman led the blessing and turnover ceremony of 40 personnel carrier units to the Philippine National Police (PNP) at the Tent Sarimanok Sports Stadium in Marawi City on February 20, 2025.
The newly acquired PNP vehicles are expected to bolster the security operations in Marawi City and its neighboring municipalities. According to Secretary Pangandaman, the initiative is a significant step in ensuring public safety while aiding law enforcement in fulfilling their duty to uphold peace and security.
“It is our fervent hope that these PNP vehicles will further help in ensuring the welfare of our people by increasing police visibility, lowering crime rates, and responding to emergency situations,” the Budget Chief stated during the event.
Police Regional Office Bangsamoro Autonomous Region (PRO BAR) Director Police Brigadier General (PB GEN) Romeo J. Macapaz officially received the personnel carriers on behalf of the PNP. The units will be distributed across Marawi City and the 39 municipalities of Lanao del Sur to enhance mobility and response capabilities.
In recognition of her support, Police Major General (PMGEN) Neil B. Alinsangan presented a token of appreciation to Secretary Pangandaman, who is a native of Marawi City.
DBM Undersecretary Goddes Hope Libiran was also in attendance, underscoring the government’s commitment to strengthening law enforcement resources in the region.
The turnover of these vehicles is part of the broader efforts to maintain peace and order in the Bangsamoro region, ensuring that security forces are well-equipped to serve and protect communities.
