Marawi City, Lanao del Sur – A joint law enforcement operation conducted by the Lanao del Sur Police Provincial Office (LDSPPO) on the evening of January 17, 2025, led to the arrest of four suspected drug personalities in Barangay Bito Buadi Itowa.
The operation, lauded by Police Colonel Robert S. Daculan, Provincial Director of the LDSPPO, was executed by the Marawi City Police Station (MCPS) and the City Drug Enforcement Unit (CDEU), in coordination with the 1st Provincial Mobile Force Company (PMFC) LDSPPO, 1403rd and 1402nd Regional Mobile Force Companies (RMFC), Provincial Special Operations Group (PSOG), Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit (PDEU), and the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) Lanao del Sur.
The buy-bust operation, conducted at approximately 9:20 PM, resulted in the confiscation of illegal drugs and paraphernalia with a total estimated street value of Php 159,052.00. Seized from the suspects were:
- One heat-sealed transparent plastic sachet containing approximately 20.39 grams of suspected shabu, valued at Php 138,652.00.
- Two additional sachets containing a total of 3.0 grams of suspected shabu, with an estimated value of Php 20,400.00.
- Drug paraphernalia, including an improvised tooter, rolled foil, lighters, and tooter components.
- One black and green Yamaha NMAX motorcycle with plate number 668KVR, along with its remote key.
The suspects, along with the confiscated items, were transported to the Marawi City Police Station for proper documentation and the filing of appropriate charges.
Police Colonel Daculan commended the operating teams for their coordinated efforts and dedication to combating illegal drugs in Lanao del Sur. He reiterated the LDSPPO’s commitment to intensifying anti-drug operations to ensure public safety and uphold the rule of law.
Authorities are continuing their investigation to determine the extent of the suspects’ involvement in the illegal drug trade in the region.
