The City Government of Davao has taken a significant step in enhancing the safety and security of passengers traveling through the Davao City Overland Transport Terminal (DCOTT) with the installation of a state-of-the-art baggage x-ray machine. The new equipment, strategically placed at the terminal’s passenger entrance, is now fully operational and aims to strengthen security measures for commuters going to and from the city.

The baggage scanner boasts a robust capacity of 150 to 200 kilograms and is designed to detect both organic and inorganic materials. This advanced technology enables the detection of prohibited items, such as sharp objects, firearms, ammunition, and other illegal materials, ensuring a safer environment for all terminal users.

“This is a vital addition to our security infrastructure,” a city official said. “The new baggage x-ray machine not only enhances our ability to intercept prohibited items but also ensures smoother operations at the terminal, providing passengers with a safer and more secure travel experience.”

The installation of the x-ray machine underscores the city government’s commitment to maintaining high standards of public safety and security. With DCOTT serving as a major hub for travelers within and beyond Davao City, the new system is expected to significantly deter attempts to transport unauthorized or dangerous items.

Passengers are encouraged to cooperate with security personnel during the screening process and to adhere to regulations regarding prohibited items. Terminal authorities have assured the public that the new measures are in place to protect the welfare of all commuters.

The installation of this modern baggage scanner is part of a broader initiative to enhance infrastructure and safety measures at DCOTT, ensuring it remains a secure and efficient gateway for local and regional travelers.
