Nabunturan, Davao de Oro — A joint anti-illegal drug buy-bust operation conducted by personnel from the Nabunturan Municipal Police Station (MPS) and the 1st Davao de Oro Provincial Mobile Force Company (1st DDOPMFC) in coordination with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) led to the arrest of a suspected drug dealer in Barangay Pangutosan, Nabunturan, during the early hours of December 31, 2024.
Under the command of Police Lieutenant Colonel Eduard B. Jungco, Chief of Police, the operation was carried out at around 1:15 AM with PDEA Coordination and Control No. 30004-122024-0573. The suspect, identified as “@Kuys,” a 40-year-old self-employed resident of Purok-3, Barangay Pangutosan, was apprehended at the scene.
Seized Evidence
Authorities recovered the following evidence during the operation:
- One elongated heat-sealed transparent sachet containing a white crystalline substance, suspected to be methamphetamine hydrochloride, locally known as “shabu” (buy-bust item).
- One PHP 500 bill with serial number GJ876275, used as buy-bust money.
- Three additional elongated heat-sealed transparent sachets containing suspected shabu (possession items).
The suspected illegal drugs, with an estimated total weight of one gram, have a street value of approximately PHP 6,800. The evidence was marked and inventoried on-site in the presence of required witnesses, including the suspect himself, as mandated by law.
Ongoing Investigation
The arrested individual is currently under the custody of Nabunturan MPS and will face charges for violations of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 (Republic Act No. 9165). The operation underscores the continuing commitment of local law enforcement agencies to combat illegal drug activities in the region.
PLTCOL Eduard Jungco commended the operatives for their vigilance and professionalism during the operation, emphasizing the importance of sustained efforts to eradicate illegal drugs and ensure public safety.
